Keith lose lead but end run of defeats

Cammy Keith scores againKEITH threw away a 2-0 lead but still ended a run of 11 straight Highland league defeats on Wednesday.

With manager Dean Donaldson unavailable, assistant boss Jamie Lennox saw the Maroons go 2-0 up inside 17 minutes and hold their lead to the break.

But Lennox is seeing a pattern of poor performances from his team in the second 45 minutes and it happened again with Nairn scoring twice late on to nick a point.

"Our first half performances have been really good in a lot of the games we've been involved in," he said.

"But for some reason or another we can't seem to sustain it going into the second half. It's a major disappointment."

Cammy Keith's 23rd goal of the season, a header from a Stewart Hutcheon cross put Keith ahead and on loan Caley Thistle youngster Keir Smith quickly added a second.

It was still 2-0 going into the final 15 minutes but nairn's second half dominance told as Jordan MacRae and Jack Maclean both scored.

Huntly and Lossiemouth drew 1-1 at Christie Park, with the visitors missing a penalty chance to win it.
