The Walter Abbot Charity Darts Weekend hopes to hit the bullseye once again on Friday.

NOW in its third decade the Walter Abbott Charity Weekend of Darts begins this coming Friday in Elgin Town Hall.

Regularly attracting a large entry from Moray, the North of Scotland and further afield, the weekend is an established date on the Scottish darts calendar.

Stuart Tumack, who is one of the organisers, said: "We're hoping once again for a bumper turnout. So whether they play darts or not, we'd like the to pop down to the hall and support the weekend.

"Hot food is being provided by The Moray Hog Roast Company and a bar will be on site."

Last year a total of £3,500 was donated to Cranloch Riding for the Disabled, Moray Women's Aid and Inspiring Darts.

The event begins on Friday with the popular blind Draw 3s competition.

Also played the same evening is the Bob Millar Youth Open for players up to 18 years of age, and the new Walter Abbott Inspiring Darts Singles.

Saturday sees the Men's and Ladies Open Singles competitions, followed by a night of musical entertainment by Elgin's own DJ and MC Steve Falconer.

Entry is free and open to everyone.

Mens and Ladies Doubles are on Sunday, before the weekend is concluded with all the finals played on stage, followed by presentations and the traditional committee walk-on.

The weekend's main sponsors are Springfield Homes, Howdens and Ca'Dora.

Dozens of local businesses also sponsor a board.

Throughout the weekend there will be raffles and other money raising events.

Any prizes and donations are warmly accepted.
