Buckie's lead cut to three points

THE Highland League title race remains firmly in the melting pot after a 2-1 defeat for Buckie Thistle at rivals Brora Rangers.

Sam Urquhart converted a penalty but it wasn't enough.

A win for the Jags would have put them nine points clear of the Sutherland side.

However, the result cuts the gap to three points, although Buckie still have a game in hand.

Cove Rangers will be just a point behind Buckie if they win their game in hand on Graeme Stewart’s side.

Formartine could yet figure in the title race but they would need to win four games in hand on Buckie to close to within three points.

Scott Graham headed Brora ahead in Saturday’s game at Dudgeon Park, played in awful conditions.

Kyle MacLeod added a second after the break before Sam Urquhart pulled one back for Buckie from the penalty spot.
