Schoolgirl taken to hospital after being hit by car

A SCHOOLGIRL has been knocked down by a car after getting off a school bus near Insch.Ifyou have information phone the police on 101.

The 12-year-old was injured on Friday afternoon and was taken to the intensive care unit in Aberdeen.

An Aberdeenshire Council spokesperson said: “A pupil was struck by a car shortly after getting off a school bus at around 4:15pm on Friday, May 25. The accident occurred at the Loch Insch Fishery junction of the A96.

“The pupil was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to the Intensive Care Unit at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. She has since been transferred to a general ward. We wish her a speedy recovery.

“We are working alongside Police Scotland and the bus company on investigating the accident.”
