Hunt goes on for Insch robber

INVESTIGATIONS are continuing after a man was the victim of an attempted robbery in Insch.

The incident happened in the Commerce Street area of the town around 7.10pm on Thursday, September 14.

No-one was injured however officers have appealed for anyone who was in the area and saw anything unusual or suspicious to contact them.

Offices are looking to trace a man in connection with enquiries who may be able to assist them. He is described as around 6ft tall, with short brown hair and was wearing a cap.

Detective Sergeant John Lumsden said: "This appears to have been an isolated incident and officers are following a positive line of enquiry.

 "Although he wasn’t injured it has naturally been upsetting for the man involved. Officers would ask that anyone with information contacts them on 101 or Crimetsoppers on 0800 555 111 to remain anonymous."

Following further enquiries, Police would like to speak to a man who was within the Commercial Hotel, Commerce Street, the previous evening (Wednesday September 13).

Det Sgt Lumsden added: "I would appeal to anyone who recognises this person to please contact us as soon as possible as they may have information which could assist. Likewise I would appeal to him directly to get in touch."
