Police investigating attempted robbery at Macduff takeaway


Police officers are investigating an attempted robbery at a chinese takeaway in Macduff.
POLICE are appealing for information following an attempted robbery at a takeaway food premises in Macduff.


Officers were called to Tang’s Chinese Takeaway, Crook O’Ness St, at around 9.20pm on Thursday after a man threatened a shop worker before leaving empty-handed.

He was described as white, about 5’8 in height, of slim build, wearing a black jacket and black trousers and spoke with a local accent.

Detective Sergeant Sam Buchan, of CID for North Aberdeenshire said: "No one was hurt during this incident and nothing was taken, however the shop worker involved was obviously shaken by what happened.

"If anyone was in the area of Crook O’Ness Street last night and recalls seeing someone matching the description of the suspect or knows anything about the incident, I would ask that they contact us with information quoting reference 4097 of March 29."

Information can also be given to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 by anyone who would prefer to remain anonymous.
