Gary Scott, Addison Crescent, Banff, graduated from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, with a masters degree in Electrical Mechanical Engineering, with distinction. He is a former pupil of Banff Primary and Banff Academy, and is now working with XPD8 Solutions in Aberdeen.
Kerry Smith, of Macduff, graduated from the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, with a Bachelor's degree in nursing. She is a former pupil of Macduff Primary School and Banff Academy.
Aimee Reid of Gardenstown graduated from the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen with a Bachelor of Nursing degree in adult nursing. She is a former pupil of Bracoden Primary School and Banff Academy.
Shona Sopel, Macduff, graduated with a BA in Specialist Practitioner and District Nursing from the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen. She works as a community nurse in the Deveron practice at Banff Health Centre.
Vivienne Reith graduated with a First Class honours degree in management at the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. Vivienne, a former pupil of Macduff Primary School and Banff Academy, is currently working with Aberdeenshire Council.
Jill Urquhart, Glassaugh House, Fordyce, has graduated with a HNC in professional cookery from Moray College. She won the Speyside Student Chef of the Year title in both 2008 and 2009 after beating off fierce competition in the finals. She is currently sous chef at the Seafield Arms Hotel in Cullen.
Alasdair Scott, of King Edward, graduated BSc Hons in psychology from the University of Glasgow. Alasdair is a former pupil of King Edward Primary and Banff Academy.
Callum Scott graduated LLB Hons in law from the University of Aberdeen. Callum, a former pupil of King Edward Primary and Banff Academy, is now studying for a diploma in legal practice.
Dane Sutherland graduated from the University of Aberdeen with an MA (Honours) Degree in history of art. Dane is a former pupil of Banff Academy, and the grandson of Alex and Nan Sutherland, from Portsoy.
Kyle Ritchie graduated with a BA Hons in Publishing with Journalism from the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen. Kyle is the son of Martin and Kay, Knock Street, Whitehills. He is now working as a trainee reporter with Scottish Provincial Press, publishers of the Banffshire Journal.
Marie Taylor from Longmanhill graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in Physiotherapy from the Robert Gordon University. Marie, a former pupil of Macduff Primary and Banff Academy, now works in Dundee.
Michael Taylor from Portsoy graduated B.Ed Honours from the University of Aberdeen. Michael received his initial education at Portsoy Primary, and starts his teaching career further along the coast, at Rosehearty.
Logan Skene, a former Banff Academy pupil, from Macduff, graduated from the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen with a Masters of Engineering (MEng) degree in mechanical engineering.
Sheena-Kay Smith, Damheads, Portsoy, graduated from Aberdeen College with an HNC in early education and childcare. She is already putting her new skills to good use, working at Portknockie Nursery.
Nikki Taylor, from Banff, graduated SVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery from Moray College, Elgin. The former Macduff Primary School and Banff Academy pupil is currently continuing her studies towards an SVQ Level 3 qualification. She is also working as a chef at the Waterfront Hotel, Macduff.
Craig Scott, 7 Addison Crescent, Banff, graduated as a Bachelor of Design (Hons) in graphic design from Gray's School of Art, the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen. Craig is a former pupil of Banff Academy and Banff Primary School.
Malcolm Riach from Portsoy graduated BA (Hons) in accounting and finance from the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. Malcolm is now working with the international oil and gas company, Total.
Ewan Thomson, from Macduff, graduated BA (Hons) in photographic and electronic media from the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. Ewan is a former pupil of Macduff Primary School and Banff Academy. He undertook his degree studies at Gray's School of Art, part of the RGU.
Laura Taylor, of Portsoy, a former Banff Academy pupil, graduated from the University of Abertay with a BSc (Hons) in psychology. She is now returning to Dundee to study towards a PGDE in primary education at Dundee University.
Nicola Smith, from Turriff, graduated from Paisley University with a Diploma of Higher Education in Adult Nursing. She works as a nurse at Chalmers Hospital.
Karen Stuart graduated PhD in Genetics from the University of Newcastle. The former Portsoy Primary School and Banff Academy pupil now lives in Tyne and Wear. Parents Alan and Iris Stuart stay in Turriff.
John Stephen from Macduff in his new uniform of the 3rd Parachute Regiment, following his passing-out at Catterick. The 22 year old now goes on to parachute jump training. John's mother and father, Patricia and John, live in Church Street, Macduff.
Peter Smart, a former Banff Academy pupil, graduated B Sc in computing for the Internet and multimedia from the Robert Gordon University. He is now working for Senergy, an oil and gas consulting company in Aberdeen.
Andrew Randall, graduated BD (Hons) from Edinburgh University, and is following his father into the ministry of the Church of Scotland. He is the third son of Rev David and Mrs Nan Randall. He was educated at Macduff Primary and Banff Academy and studied law at Aberdeen. He has now completed his studies for the ministry, and is beginning a 15 month probationary period at Logie St John’s Church, Dundee.
Arlene Ritchie (right), who graduated recently as a chartered accountant, receives the Alistair Pearce Prize from Isobel Sharp, President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. The award was presented to the former Banff Academy pupil who works for Ritsons in Buckie. She graduated with the highest score in the Institute’s exams in 2005 and 2006, of those who did not gain their chartered accountancy through a degree course.
Nicole Shillington, from Macduff, graduated from the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen with a Bachelor of Nursing degree. The former Banff Academy pupil is working in the infection unit at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
Lyndsey Thomson, a former Banff Academy pupil, graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing Degree in children's nursing from the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen. Lyndsey is the youngest daughter of Douglas and Kathleen, of Gellymill Street, Macduff.
Leanne Ritchie, Reidhaven Street, Whitehills, graduated BSc (with distinction) in sport and exercise science. The former Banff Academy pupil is now working as a recreation supervisor at the Edinburgh University Centre for Sports and Exercise.
Judith Robinson, Gellymill Street, Macduff, who works for CIC in Portsoy with people who have special needs, graduated with an SVQ level three in social care from Aberdeen College.
Veronica Souter of Queens Crescent, Portsoy, graduated BA (Hons) with a Diploma in Social Work from the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen. Veronica, a former Banff Academy pupil, is now working in Aberdeen.
Elaine Smith, Montcoffer View, Banff, graduated with a Diploma of Higher Education in Nursing (Adult Nursing) from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. Elaine is now working at Chalmers Hospital, Banff.
Gillian Robertson, Portsoy, graduated LLB from the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. Gillian is the only daughter of George and Joyce Robertson, the Square. She is a former pupil of the town’s primary school and Banff Academy. Gillian is starting her law career as a contracts engineer with a firm in Westhill.
