Dianne Mair, Cullen, graduated from the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, with a Bachelor of Nursing degree in Adult Nursing. She is a former pupil of Banff Primary and Banff Academy.

Evelyn Morrison, Addison Crescent, Banff, graduated with a Diploma of Higher Education in nursing (mental health) from the University of the West of Scotland, Paisley. She is now a staff nurse on the Findlater Ward at Campbell Hospital in Portsoy.

Gavin Murdo (19) from Portsoy, younger son of Kevin and Doreen, gained an advanced certificate in carpentry and joinery at Moray College. Gavin is a final-year apprentice with Kevin Murdo Joinery.

Wayne Robert Murdo, eldest son of Doreen and Kevin, graduated with a BSc (Hons) in sport and exercise science (sports coaching) from Edinburgh Napier University. A former pupil of Banff Primary School and Banff Academy, Wayne has an aspiration to become a PE teacher.

Graham Malcolm, 26 Causewayend Crescent, Aberchirder, graduated from the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen with a 2:1 in artificial intelligence and electronic engineering. Graham, a former pupil of Aberchirder Primary and Banff Academy, is now working for Aker Solutions in Dyce.

Charlotte Montrose graduated with an MA Honours in sociology from Glasgow University. She is the daughter of Stuart and Karen Montrose, of Little Blackton, Alvah.

Michael Legge graduated with a BSc (Hons) in sports coaching with development from the University of Abertay in Dundee. He is a former pupil of Macduff Primary School and Banff Academy.

Andrew Kelly of Sandend, a former Banff Academy and Portsoy Primary pupil, graduated Bachelor of Design (Graphic Design) from the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen.

Emma Lindsay, from King Edward, graduated with a Master of Pharmacy with distinction from the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. She was also awarded the School of Pharmacy Prize for prescribing sciences. The former pupil of Banff Primary and Banff Academy is now undertaking her pre-registration year at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Daniel Milne, from Macduff, graduated from the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, with a BA Hons in Accounting and Finance. The former pupil of Macduff Primary and Banff Academy is now working with Ernst and Young, Aberdeen, where he he will complete his training to be a Chartered Accountant.

Matthew Kinghorn from Macduff graduated with a first-class honours degree in applied marine biology from Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh. He was educated at Macduff Primary and Banff Academy. Known to Deveronvale fans as 'Matty', he was a star of the Vale team which won the Highland league for the first time in 2003. He now lives in Edinburgh.

Jamie Kerr, a former Macduff Primary School pupil, graduated MChem with medicinal chemistry from the University of Aberdeen. He is the only student to graduate with that degree this session. Jamie won four prizes in his final year: the Center Medal in Chemistry; the Ronald H. Thomson Prize in Organic Chemistry; the William J.P. Neish Prize in Organic Chemistry, and the University of Aberdeen Quincentenary Prize. He returned to Aberdeen to conclude his degree after a year's placement at the Australia National University in Canberra. He returns in October to start work on a PhD in organic chemistry. He now lives in Newmachar.

Gemma Montrose graduated from Strathclyde University with an M.Eng degree with merit in Product Design Engineering. Gemma is the eldest daughter of Stuart and Karen Montrose, from Little Blackton, Alvah.

Samantha Lima from Macduff graduated from the University of Aberdeen with a Bachelor of Education honours degree. She will be starting her teaching career at Fordyce Primary School.

Matthew Mitchell, from Banff, graduated from Strathclyde University, Glasgow, with a Masters degree, with distinction, in Mechanical Engineering/Materials. He was also the winner of this year's Thomas A. Clark prize. In his final year at Banff Academy, he became one of only 49 pupils in the UK to win a scholarship from the Institute of Mechanical Engineers. He works for Shell International in The Hague.

Julia Kennedy, Alvah, graduated from the University of Glasgow with BSc (Honours) in chemical physics and has just started a PhD at the University of Edinburgh. Her research involves designing, improving and manufacturing instrumentation for worldwide space and ground-based projects. Julia is a former pupil of Banff Primary School and Banff Academy.

Joanna Milne, of Station House, Ladysbridge, Banff, a former Banff Academy pupil, graduated as a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery (Merit) from the University of Glasgow. She is now an intern at the Royal Veterinary College in London.

Trevor Kemp, Banff, graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with a BA (Hons) in Integrated Product Design. He won the prize as the best student in his final year. His design to allow magazines to be re-used as shelves has been short-listed for the Glasgow Design Medal, and goes on show in the Glasgow Lighthouse towards the end of this year.

Alan Milne, Thomson Road, Banff, qualified with a Diploma in Adult Nursing at the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. Alan is now working as a nurse in Maud.

Eleanor Mitchell, Bracoden Terrace, Gardenstown, a former Bracoden Primary and Banff Academy pupil, was awarded a Higher National Diploma in administration and information management from Moray College, Elgin. She is now studying at The Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, where she was accepted into the third year of a four-year honours management degree.

Andrew Munro, whose family hail from Banff, graduated with an Honours degree in Rural Management from Edinburgh University. His grandparents are Ella and the late Hugh Munro, formerly of Thomson Road, and Betty and the late William Elrick, Windybrae. Andrew’s parents, Stuart and Margaret, left Banff to take on the family croft near Kinlochbervie.

Heather Kennedy graduated with two vet qualifications at the Vet School in Glasgow, the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery and Membership of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. She also won the Animalcare final year student prize for consistently outstanding contributions to both student and college life during her course. Mum and dad are Lorna and Ben Kennedy, West Newton of Deershaw, Alvah. The former Banff Academy pupil starts work next month as a vet in Aberdeen.

Carrie-Ann Milne, Macduff, graduated BEd in Primary Teaching from the University of Aberdeen. She will take up an appointment at the primary school in Armadale, West Lothian, after the summer holidays.
