HIGH winds greeted karters for round two of both the Super Series and GKC Championships at the Boyndie circuit, near Banff, last week which saw Gordon Mutch, of Turriff, win the Honda Cadet category.
Mutch took the early lead and held the position to the chequered flag and maintains the lead in the Super Series Honda Cadet Championship.
Michael Christie, of Banff, took third in the ICC (Gearbox) final.
Pole-man and Scottish champion Graham Clark led the ICC final away from the lights in what proved one of the most exciting ICC race for a long time at Boyndie.
Michael Christie, Walter Wallace, Liam McGill, Rory MacLennan, Niall Kinghorn, Cliff Harper and Jason Grant took up the chase.
McGill moved to second on lap five, but got a nudge at Kevin’s Korner a lap later, dropping to sixth.
Christie took second and then the lead at the end of Boyndie straight on lap eight.
Clark got the lead back a lap later with Wallace taking second.
McGill, of Dysart, was chipping his way back up the train of karts getting back to second on lap 11 before taking the lead a lap later and holding on for victory.
Wallace regained second with three laps to go and with Christie took third with two to go.
