John McLeod hat-trick secures cup win

Sick as a dog but still over the moon after two goals in the 5-2 win: John McLeod.A JOHN McLeod hat-trick was the highlight of a 6-2 Scottish Cup win for Buckie Thistle against Lowland League leaders BSC Glasgow.

The Jags will now play Championship strugglers Brechin City in the third round next month, a repeat of the Irn Bru Challenge Cup meeting last month when Buckie won 2-1.

Buckie raced into a 4-0 interval lead against Glasgow with an opener from Shaun Carrol and a double from McLeod (pictured) either side of a Steven Ross free kick.

The visitors rallied early in the second half and pulled a couple of goals back, including one from the penalty spot, in a four minute spell

However, Chris Angus made it 5-2 in added time and McLeod completed his hat-trick to seal the win in the fifth minute of injury time.

Deveronvale crashed out 2-0 at home to Scottish Juniop cup winners Glenafton Athletic with two goals in the final five minutes at Princess Royal Park.

Brora Rangers were comfortable 5-0 winners at Civil Service Strollers.

At Kynoch Park, Keith were goalless with League Two Clyde at half-time but the visitors ran out 3-0 winners in the second half.

In the other games involving Highland Leaue sides, Fraserburgh won 2-0 at Edinburgh University, Cove Rangers were 2-1 winners at Nairn County, Formartine were 4-0 winners at home to East Stirling and Clach were thumped 5-0 at Spartans.
