IT WAS double delight for Duff House Royal golfer Joyce Alexander when she was picked to take part in a prestigious charity event at Gleneagles and was also part of the winning team.
Alexander was among six women from more than 200 golf club medal winners in the UK picked out of a hat for the competition in aid of Clic Sergant, a nationwide charity dedicated to fighting children's cancer.
She enjoyed a fantastic day out, with lunch and plenty of refreshments for the teams laid on in the Dormy House, with Gleneagles also treating the caddies - Joyce took along DHR lady member Joan Barker to perform caddying duties - to a great day out.
The charity has raised more than £7,000 so far this year, and the ladies at Duff House Royal handed over £93 raised earlier in the year.
DHR club manager James Cameron said: "The ladies enter this great charitable fundraiser every year, and every year raise money for the charity, so it was great to see Duff House Royal finally come out of the hat and be able to send someone along to represent the club. "For Joyce's team to go on and win the competition was a real bonus, but in reality, it wouldn't have mattered if it rained or snowed, the most important thing is that this charity raises money for children with cancer and helps sufferers."
