IAN Angus reinforced his reputation as a true Duff House Royal legend when he extended his own record of wins in the club's Gents Five Day Tournament to six last week.
He beat John McWilliams 4 and 3 in the final.
The scratch semi-finals on Friday included no fewer than three DHR members.
The evergreen Angus defeated DHR club champion and favourite David Morrison, fresh from the lifting the four day open at Buckpool last week, by a sensational score of 7 and 5 en route to his record win.
"I am delighted to win such a prestigious tournament yet again," said Angus.
This year's tournament, the 76th, and sponsored by Belhaven Brewery, saw some thrilling golf.
In tough conditions, Justin Duff led the way in the qualifying rounds on Monday and Tuesday with a superb 135.
The junior section continues to produce young talent, with youngsters Lewis West, Andrew Cran and Lewis Mutch all qualifying for the matchplay stages with good performances and representing the club well throughout the tournament. However, it was Luke Sutherland who would set the tone. He went all the way in the scratch semi-finals and only lost out to eventual winner, Ian Angus.
The other defeated semi-finalist, Craig Young, did well to reach that stage having overcome a recent serious injury.
