A FORMER ‘herring lassie’ and a Banffshire heritage group are set to be

 among the star attractions on ‘The One Show’ on BBC1 on Thursday night.

The Banffshire Maritime and Heritage Association are set to feature in a short film which forms part of a series on working lives during the popular early-evening programme.

Viewers will see presenter Carrie Grant shown how to gut fish by Evelyn Davidson, a former ‘herring lassie’ and aunt of Banffshire Maritime and Heritage Association secretary Stan Bruce.

Mr Bruce said: "I was contacted by the film researcher, who was initially looking at focusing the film on the herring lassies of Gardenstown.
