IT WAS the scene of fantastic childhood memories for so many people.
Local youngsters spent endless hours at Tarlair Outdoor Swimming Pool, and young holidaymakers would forever remember its "chittering delights".
Aberdeenshire Council has an obligation to preserve the category A-listed art deco-style complex which has fallen into disrepair since its closure in 1995.
Last year, consultants hired by the council suggested part of it could be converted into a lobster hatchery which could also be used for education purposes.
However, with no further progress by the cash-strapped council, a new move is underway to save Tarlair which is considered by Historic Scotland to be the best example of only three surviving outdoor seaside pools in Scotland – "an outstanding example of its type".
Following thousands of names recently being added to a Facebook campaign, a public meeting will be held this week in Banff Springs Hotel on Thursday at 7pm.
