INDIA Nicolson from Bracoden Primary was in gold medal form when youngsters took part in the Active Schools Olympic Challenge at Banff Academy as part of Bank of Scotland National School Sports Week.
She had earned her place at the Banff Academy event by winning through the qualifying stages involving 44 primary schools in Banff, Peterhead, Mintlaw and Fraserburgh Active Schools network.
The top four girls and four boy scorers from each network – 32 finalists in total – took part in a series of sportshall athletics events which included standing long jump, javelin, speed bounce, high stepper and shuttle sprints.
Schools represented from the Banff network were Banff, Macduff, Bracoden and Ordiquhill.
India was the overall girls’ winner, as well as being the sports champion for the Banff network.
