A FAMILIAR face to users of Deveron Coaches’ Banff town service, bus driver Graham Cross has sent a “see you soon” message to his regular passengers after being given a clean bill of health following a life-saving kidney transplant.
Now enjoying a new lease of life, Graham (54) is urging the public of Banff to sign up to the National Health Service’s organ donation programme, insisting: “Carrying an organ donor card can and does save lives.”
He added: “I’m the living proof of that. I am now free of threat that kidney failure could kill me, because one person carrying an organ donor card can save several lives.
“I would urge anybody who doesn’t carry an organ donor card to sign up as soon as possible.”
Back at his Bridge Street home in Banff, a recovering Graham told the Banffshire Journal that he hopes to be back behind the wheel of his bus as early as September after winning the final battle in a five-year war against cancer.
