POLICE sealed off an area in the Land Street part of Buckpool on Sunday evening as part of an investigation into a sudden death.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “Police Scotland along with the Scottish Ambulance Service were called to the Land Street area at around 7.30pm yesterday evening (Sunday July 9, 2017) after the woman was found injured.
“She was taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin but later died.
“Enquiries are at an early stage and the death is currently being treated as unexplained.”
The road remained sealed off on Monday, with officers’ investigations being made more difficult due to the incident occurring outside.
Anyone who was in the area at the time, in particular between 7.15pm and 7.30pm, and has information which they think could assist officers in establishing the woman’s movements prior to being taken to hospital should contact Police on 101.
