MACDUFF residents will get the first chance to see inside the new sports and community facilities at Myrus this weekend.
Sports groups will join together to celebrate the opening of the £3.5 million Macduff Community and Sports Centre on Saturday, November 5, from 10am-4pm.
Boxers, gymnasts and Brownies will be using the new sports hall throughout the day with football and rugby teams playing on the new all-weather pitch outside.
Sport instructors will offer 10-minute taster sessions of exercise classes that will be on offer in the centre and community, learning and development staff will be available for visitors to ask questions and give feedback.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service will set up one of their fire engines in the car park of the centre for children and interested adults to find out more about how it works.
Aberdeenshire Council’s Head of Lifelong Learning and Leisure, John Harding, said: "Macduff Community and Sports Centre is a great new facility for local residents from the town and surrounding area.
"If you live in Macduff, the open day this Saturday is your chance to see the new facilities for the first time – a sports hall, all-weather outdoor pitch, rooms which will be available for community groups to book.
"The council’s sport and physical activity staff will be on hand as well as staff from community, learning and development and we are looking for feedback from visitors to the new centre on the kind of activities they are interested in seeing available in the future.
"This is an incredibly exciting development for the town, I’m sure everyone is looking forward to seeing the new centre as much as I am."
