THE volunteer crew from RNLI Macduff assisted in the rescue operation at Macduff Harbour.
The crew launched the Lydia Macdonald at 5.07pm on Tuesday, July 11 and was immediately on scene in the harbour.
RNLI spokesman Mike Rawlins said: "On arrival, the crew found colleagues from Scottish Ambulance Service and local Coastguard stations performing CPR on a middle-aged male who had been recovered from the water in the harbour.
"The crew and lifeboat stayed on scene to provide any assistance and safety cover during the incident."
A Coastguard rescue helicopter was called to the harbour and the casualty was airlifted at 5.50 pm and transported to hospital.
