POLICE are appealing for information following a robbery which occurred within the grounds of Fyvie Castle.
The incident happened at around 10.30am on Monday, February 27, whereby a man was approached by two other men and forced to hand over a personal item and a small quantity of cash.
Detective Sergeant Martyn Thomson, who is leading the inquiry, said: "Crimes of this nature are extremely rare in this particular area and I can provide every assurance that the public’s safety is our main priority.
"Thankfully no one was hurt during the incident.
"An investigation is underway and I am appealing for anyone who was in the area around the time in question and saw anything suspicious to contact police.
"In particular I would appeal to anyone with information about two white men, both described as being around 6ft, of slim builds with shaved, dark-coloured hair.
"They had local accents, aged about early to mid-twenties and were wearing dark coloured tracksuits. One man was in possession of a silver coloured bike.
"Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if they would prefer to remain anonymous."
