BANFF Academy is making good progress but more needs to be done, inspectors have declared.
Head teacher Alan Horberry, who was appointed last year, was praised by HM Inspectors for building higher levels of morale and ethos.
He has also gained the confidence of many parents and staff who like his approachability.
However, the report said many measures suggested in a critical report in 2013 and a follow up in 2014 still need more time to take effect.
